ANTI-VIRUS PIONEER EUGENE KASPERSKY TO ADDRESS EUROPE’S LARGEST IT SECURITY AND IDENTITY DEBATE

First High Profile Speakers Announced For ISSE/SECURE 2007, 25th – 27th September, University of Warsaw

Leema, the Independent European e-Identity & Security Association, today announced that Head of Research & Development at the Kaspersky Lab, Eugene Kaspersky will join the acclaimed speaker line-up at ISSE/SECURE 2007 in Warsaw. A series of interactive sessions including panel debates and case studies across four content-rich tracks will ensure ISSE/SECURE 2007 remains one of the most thought-provoking and interactive conferences in the industry.

Eugene Kaspersky will join the opening plenary, following welcome addresses on 25th September from Vice Chairman of the Board at eema, Frank Jorissen, TeleTrusT’s Norbert Pohlmann, Executive Director of ENISA, Andrea Pirotti, CTO of NASK, Krzysztof Silicki and Minister of Interior and Administration in Poland, Janusz Kaczmarek. Addressing over 400 delegates, Kaspersky will draw on his own experience to tackle the dark side of Cybercrime and the different tactics that hackers employ from around the world.

Other confirmed high profile host speakers include Chief Security Advisor at Microsoft Germany, Sebastian Rohr, who will be talking about the company’s infamous CardSpace project for identity management. Executive Director of eema, Roger Dean, will host the morning session on Smart Tokens, including arguments from BSI Germany, NXP Semiconductors and Spansion France. Plus, VP Security Technologies at Siemens AG, Walter Fumy will tackle Interoperability with a session that will cover digital signatures across borders, fraud information sharing and Enterprise Key Management Infrastructure (EKMI).

As the organiser, eema has ensured that for eight years ISSE (Information Security Solutions Europe) has been Europe's only independent, interdisciplinary security conference and exhibition. It is world-renowned for its diverse content and unbiased perspective, designed to educate and inform ICT security professionals, policy makers, and industry leaders on the latest developments in technology, solutions, market trends and best practice on a wide range of security topics.

In collaboration with dedicated ISSE partners ENISA (European Network and Information Security Agency) and TeleTrust, eema this year joins the data networks research and development organisation NASK to co-host the annual SECURE conference. SECURE is Poland’s oldest annual conference on the security of telecommunications & data networks and systems and in conjunction with ISSE, alongside the three-track programme (Identity Management, Trusted Computing and Legal) SECURE will provide a forum for Polish speakers and delegates in the dedicated fourth track.

“Poland is a new EU country and is still developing its economy at a steady rate, with its IT and telecoms industry almost doubling its share of the country’s GDP over the past ten years,” says Executive Director of eema, Roger Dean. “We are bringing ISSE/SECURE 2007 to Warsaw to educate and inform European delegates in secure computing and electronic identity, including how other countries are tackling the issues.”

The programme is fully supported by the Polish government, with the Minister of Interior and Administration in Poland, Janusz Kaczmarek, joining Kaspersky at the opening plenary. Other government organisations and Polish academic institutions will join the agenda for the three days, including senior level representatives from the Polish-Japanese Institute of Information Technology, the Polish Banking Association, the Polish Police Academy and the Szczecin University of Technology.
